FUNERAL SERVICES

Charles Joley II

Born in Pana, Ill., he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Ricketts Joley.

Dr. Joley was a lifelong educator, beginning as an agricultural education teacher in Toulon, Ill.

He earned three degrees, including his doctoral degree, at the University of Illinois.

He was a leader in vocational education services at Eastern Illinois University, and served there as Dean of the College of Education and Allied Professions for 25 years.

He loved music and playing the piano.  His grandchildren enjoy music, and were inspired to  play the piano because of him.

He and his wife, Gail, enjoyed travel to many parts of the world, especially to France.

Boating, sailing, and fishing were other interests.

He cherished his Pana roots, and his classmates who have known him for over 60 years.

He was a member of the Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.

Most of all, he loved and relished time with his family, and with friends, enjoying lively conversation, great food and its preparation,  and memorable times together.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Joley of Pawleys Island; sons, Charles L. Joley III (Lisa) of Belleville, Ill., David S. Joley of St. Clair Shores, MI; Stepsons, David Wells (Sonia) of Monroe, CT, Bill Huffman (Laura) of Charlotte, NC; stepdaughter, Dina Wells of Pawleys Island, SC; grandchildren, Hailey Crowton-Joley, Charles L.
