Taziya Moody's arms were filled with "loot" when she posed for a picture on her honors during the Ramon Sessions basketball camp.
Moody wore a blue T-shirt that every camper got as part of the camp.
Draped over her arm was a Number 7 jersey autographed by Myrtle Beach native Ramon Sessions. She also held a signed basketball and a trophy for Most Improved Player from the week-long camp.
Sessions was playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves, but was traded Monday night to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He will be in the same city as Carvers Bay graduate Clifton Geathers, who recently signed with the Cleveland Browns football team.
Moody, 14, started playing basketball with the Georgetown County Parks and Recreation Department when she was about 9 years old.
She went straight into the JV team in the 7th grade, and is a rising 9th grader at Georgetown High School.
She scored 162 points for the JV team and was named MVP.
She's played AAU basketball for several years, but decided to go to the Sessions camp to work on getting ready for varsity basketball. She focused on individual skills, such as dribbling, shooting and passing the ball.
She'll also go to a Nike basketball camp at Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina Aug. 3 to Aug. 7.
At the Ramon Sessions camp at Myrtle Beach High School, Moody was one of about 100 people participating and came home with plenty of recognition.
She enjoys basketball, particularly dribbling and shooting and passing the ball to her teammates.
"I learned you should work hard and don't give up on your dreams," she told the Georgetown Times.
Boys basketball coach and co-athletic director Alvin "Stitch" Walker said "She's going to be very special before she leaves this high school. She works on her game."
Her dad Tyrone Snow is an assistant football coach with the varsity and JV teams at Georgetown High. He coaches the running backs.
Her mother is Shawnta Moody, and she has a brother Tyrez, 11, and a sister Paris, 10.
For college, Taziya Moody would like to go to the University of Tennessee and play for the Lady Vols.
"I want to go there because Candace Parker went there. She was a basketball player and is now with the Los Angeles Sparks" of the WNBA.
"She's always played a year or two ahead of her age group," her dad Tyrone Snow said.
"I want our record to be good," she said of the Lady Bulldogs. "I want to help the team."
