Attorney General Henry McMaster announced today that Donnie Shawn Elliott, 32, of 81 Plum Lane in Andrews, South Carolina, was arrested on July 27, 2010, in an Internet Predator sting conducted by the City of Anderson Police Department.
The City of Anderson Police Department is a member of the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Elliott was arrested on two (2) counts of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor (§16-15-342), a felony offense punishable to ten (10) years imprisonment on each count.
Arrest warrants allege that beginning January 14, 2010, Elliott solicited sex on the Internet from an individual he believed to be minor girl. In reality, he was soliciting sex from an undercover Anderson Police officer.
Search warrants executed at Elliott’s residence resulted in the seizure of three (3) computers, and a number of computer-related devices.
The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, also a Task Force member, assisted in the case. A booking photo is available through the Anderson County Detention Center. This is the one hundred ninety-fourth (194th) arrest for the Task Force. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
McMaster stressed that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
