The following reports were collected  from local law enforcement offices:

Shots fired

Deputies rushed to the 1500 block of Old Pee Dee Road at about 11:45 p.m. Monday after a woman called 911 saying she heard three gunshots in the area of her front yard.

She told the officers she immediately got down on the floor when she heard the gunfire and when she felt it was safe she ran to her neighbor’s house to call for help.

The deputies found four gun shells in the roadway near the woman’s home which were placed into evidence.

So far, the person who fired the shots has not been found.

School vandalism

More than $300 worth of damage was reported at Lowcountry Day School in Pawleys Island Dec. 13.

A staff member showed a deputy two glass doors that had been shattered by a concrete block. The top of an air conditioner had also been dented.

CDV or Tug-of-war?

Deputies met a 33-year-old Murrells Inlet woman in the Waccamaw Community Hospital emergency room Dec. 14.

She said her estranged husband stopped by her house to retrieve some items when an argument erupted.

She said she asked him to leave and then walked out to get some of her things from his car.

She said he tried to grab the items which led to a tug-of-war between them.

The woman said her husband grabbed her arm and threw her on the ground causing an injury to her wrist and elbow.

The man then left the residence.

Deputies talked to the man who confirmed the tug-of-war but said he never assaulted her. He said his wife “lost grip” of the items and fell on the ground.

Beacuse of the domestic violence law, the man was arrested and was transported to jail.

Bus driver accused

A Plantersville woman decided she did not want to press charges against a bus driver who allegedly put her hands around her 8-year-old son’s neck Dec. 10.

The incident started when the driver told the child to sit next to a girl with whom he does not get along.

The child said his mother had told him not to sit next to the girl since they always fight.

The driver reportedly stopped the bus and walked over to the child, put her hands around his neck forcing him to the seat.

The child’s mother said she talked to school officials about the matter and did not want to pursue it criminally.

She was told her son will be allowed to ride a different bus in the future.

Mad about supper

A Browns Ferry woman called deputies Dec. 12 because her 36-year-old son was “intoxicated and being disorderly inside their house.”

She said her son got mad when he found out they were having pancakes and not roast for supper.

He grabbed his mother’s car keys and some meat from the refrigerator and started to leave.

His brother was able to get the keys from him.

Dog attacking dog

A man from Hagley Drive said his dog was attacked by his neighbor’s dogs Dec. 11.

He said his dog named “Lulu” was in their yard when the neighboring K-9s came over and attacked her, biting her eight times.

The dog owner said he wrapped his bleeding dog in a towel and walked to his neighbor’s house who was apologetic about the incident.

He took the dog to the vet and was told she would require surgery.

The dog owner told his neighbor he would help him erect a fence to keep his pets in so they were not on the loose.
