A woman from Lee Ave. in Murrells Inlet said she was sleeping Feb. 25 and was awakened by her 25-year-old son who was on his hands and knees crawling into her bedroom.
She said she believes he was trying to get her car keys off her dresser.
When she asked him what he was doing he claimed he was going to try to wake her up. When she said she thought he was getting the keys, he got upset and started hitting and pushing her.
When she called 911, her son grabbed $15 of her money from a counter and ran out the door.
The case was presented to a magistrate for possible warrants.
Another son accused
A 48-year-old Andrews area woman said she was assaulted by her 24-year-old son Feb. 25.
The man was gone when deputies arrived.
The woman said she went to retrieve a laptop from her son’s house and he told her he was not giving it to her.
That resulted in an argument that escalated to the point he slammed her on the ground and started punching her in the chest.
The investigation continues.
Teen sexually assaulted
A Lake City woman said she believes her 15-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted after sneaking out of a relative’s home Feb. 26.
At first the girl told investigators the sex with the 16-year-old was consensual but later told them she was raped.
She said she was at the home of a relative in the Greentown Community when the 16-year-old called her and asked her to walk down the road. She left the house and met the teen.
The girl said he forced her into a garage and raped her as two other male teens stood outside keeping watch.
After the assault, the suspect let her go.
So far, no charges have been filed.
Disabled woman attacked
Deputies were sent to Waccamaw Community Hospital Feb. 26 where they met a woman in the waiting room that had been attacked by her husband.
The disabled woman said her husband threw her on the ground and stomped on her hand while at their Murrells Inlet home. He then threw a plate of food on her then started kicking her all over her body.
He then forced her out of their house and drove off and wrecked a short time later.
The man claimed his wife received her injuries by falling out of bed. He also said he did not force her out of the house, saying she left on her own.
The man was arrested for domestic violence.
A woman from Savannah left her dog at a pet care service in Pawleys Island for 71 days.
When she retrieved the dog she noticed it had lost quite a bit of weight and was missing its dew claws.
She said she felt the dog had been abused.
The woman was told by a deputy it is normal for dogs to stop eating when at a strange location and there is nothing wrong with having dew claws removed.
The deputy also told the woman it is a civil, not criminal, matter.
Information is subject to change as the investigation proceeds. Individuals arrested and/or charged have not been convicted.
