Deputies busted up a party where several underage teenagers were drinking Feb. 20.

The officers responded to the party at a home on Slash Street in Andrews at about 3:50 a.m. after being tipped off by the mother of one of the teens.

They found six juvenile boys and three girls. One of them, a 13-year-old male, was in a chair unconscious with a low pulse.

Because of his level of intoxication, he was taken to the hospital by EMS.

It was determined about half-a-gallon of alcohol had been consumed by the group.

The teens were released to their parents.

Busted church sign

Someone caused about $1,000 worth of damage by throwing a concrete block through a sign belonging to St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church on Old Pee Dee Road. A trustee of the church said he has no idea who may be responsible.

Brother accused

A woman from General Marion Place in Andrews said she noticed $700 was missing from her pocketbook Feb. 17.

The woman said the only person who had been in her home was her 23-year-old brother, so she thinks he took the money.

When asked how she knew he did it, the woman gave deputies a letter written by her brother who stated he would pay the cash back.

She said she never gave him permission to take the money.

“I was stupid”

Wal Mart security called police Feb. 23 after a 23-year-old Georgetown man was spotted stealing DVDs.

A security official said the man was seen walking out of the store after stuffing three DVD movies in his jacket.

When  police asked him why he did it, the man said he did not know “but he was stupid,” the report states.

After the man was placed in handcuffs, it was discovered the DVDs were not the only things taken. The officers also found about $10 worth of energy drinks and an electric shaver in his clothing.

Also found was a hypodermic needle believed to be used to inject drugs.

Checkpoint arrests

Deputies conducted a license checkpoint on Highway 17A in the Sampit community Feb. 19.

When they asked a 21-year-old Moncks Corner man for his license, he said he did not have one.

It was learned his license was suspended for failing to pay traffic tickets.

The man was placed in handcuffs and he was asked if there were any illegal drugs in the car. He said “yes.”

A passenger in the car, a 26-year-old Moncks Corner man, admitted he had been smoking marijuana.

A small bag of the drug was found in the pocket of his jacket.

He was charged with simple possession of marijuana while the other man was charged with driving under suspension.

Also at the checkpoint, a 28-year-old Georgetown man was arrested for simple possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon after a deputy smelled the illegal drug coming from the man’s vehicle.

The man who was charged was a passenger in the vehicle.

Bullet holes found

A woman from Winyah Street called police Feb. 23 after finding bullet holes in her home.

The woman said she saw the blinds in her living room were damaged then saw bullet holes in the window.

There were two bullet holes in a door.

Police found ten shell casings in the roadway in front of the house.

No arrests have been made.
