A 21-year-old Litchfield man and a 17-year-old Pawleys Island female were arrested after the teen ran away to be with him July 23.

The teen’s father called 911 after his daughter went missing.

Deputies checked her computer and found messages she and the man had written to each other talking about getting together, smoking marijuana and having sex.

It was discovered she had sent the man three nude photos of herself.

Deputies drove to the man’s Litchfield Plantation home and saw his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

He smelled of alcohol.

The runaway was found in the man’s bedroom which had an odor of marijuana.

A nearly empty bottle of wine was also found in the bedroom.

The man was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of marijuana. The woman was charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Robbed on the beach

A 16-year-old from Marietta, Ga. says he was robbed while walking on the beach in Garden City the night of July 22.

 The teen — who suffers from Aspergers — said he was changing a song on his phone when he was approached by what he described as a “redneck” who was about six foot tall with a strong southern accent.

The teen said the man pointed a gun at him and demanded he give him his phone.

The teen said he was able to squeeze the suspect’s wrist causing the magazine from the gun to fall on the ground.

The victim said he quickly grabbed the magazine and threw it in the ocean.

He then ran away from the suspect, who was never located.

Assaulted in

soup kitchen

A woman said she was assaulted by a stranger while she was volunteering in the soup kitchen at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church July 24.

The woman said she was washing dishes when the man grabbed her by the head and started to hit on her.

She said she was in the kitchen alone when the man walked in.

When she screamed for help, others ran in and separated the man from her.

Because the man is Autistic, the woman decided she would not press charges.

However, she did want him placed on trespass notice.

Out of control teen

Deputies were sent to a home on Bragdon Ave. July 24 because a 17-year-old was “tearing up” his grandfather’s home.

When the officers arrived, the older man met them outside and said his grandson was out of control and needed to be removed from the house.

He said the argument began because he would not allow his grandson to live in his shed.

When a deputy walked in the house, the teen was sweeping the floor and refused to speak.

The deputy grabbed the teen by the arm and the teen took a “fighting stance.”

With the help of another deputy, the officer was able to get the suspect on the ground and in handcuffs.

Because he continued to resist, the deputies had to carry the teen to the patrol car.

He had a pipe used to smoke marijuana in his possession.

He was taken to jail.

Cat shot in

Murrells Inlet

A man who feeds cats outside his home on Moss Creek Loop in Murrells Inlet said he noticed an unusual lump on the back of one of the animals July 23.

He took the cat to Coastal Animal Rescue and it was determined the cat had a BB lodged under its skin which was removed.

The man said several of his neighbors are unhappy about all the cats in the area and have made statements about getting rid of them.

He fears one of them may have shot the cat.
