A 41-year-old Pawleys Island woman used her phone to escape what may have turned into a kidnapping Jan. 5.
The woman said she was walking on the paved portion of Old Plantation Drive when a small silver car passed her headed towards Ocean Highway.
The woman said the driver then turned around and drove in the left lane straight towards her.
She said she had to step off of the road into the grass to avoid being hit by the car occupied by one male and two females.
She said the male exited the car and said “now you are coming with us.”
The woman was already on her cell phone with Central Dispatch when the man made his demand.
The victim said she walked to the back of the car and loudly called out the car’s license tag number for the dispatcher.
This must have frightened the man because he jumped in the car and sped away.
The area was searched but the suspects were not located.
AHS fight
There was a fight on the freshman academy hall at Andrews High School Feb. 6.
As the school’s resource officer was trying to get to the altercation about 40-50 students were rushing to see what was happening.
The officer was able to separate the students and placed one in handcuffs while the assistant principal held the other.
The fight reportedly began because one of the students — males ages 14 and 15 — slapped the other earlier in the day.
Both were charged with disorderly conduct.
Possible sexual assault
Investigators are trying to determine if a 32-year-old Georgetown woman was sexually assaulted.
The woman said she was at an apartment in the 3600 block of Highmarket Street Feb. 5 and was drinking with two men.
She knew one of the men by first name only and only knew a nickname for the second man.
She said they were drinking pints of vodka and one of the men removed her pants. She said she is unsure what happened after that because she blacked out.
She said when she woke up, her pants were off and she felt like something was wrong.
The woman said she showered and then went to the hospital to be checked out.
So far, no one has been charged.
Theft from vehicle
A $500 revolver and $140 in cash was stolen from a truck parked at a home on Newman Loop in Pawleys Island Feb. 5.
The victim — a Turbeville resident — said one of the doors had been left unlocked.
She said a man she knows with a drug problem may be the suspect.
Information is subject to change as the investigation proceeds. Individuals arrested and/or charged have not been convicted.
