A 49-year-old auto repairman said he was on Dock Street, outside the gates of the S.C. Ports Authority assisting a motorist Tuesday afternoon when a male acquaintance jumped out of an 18 wheeler and ran towards him with a knife in one hand and a large pipe in the other.

The victim said the suspect said “I’ll show you.”

He said the man never hit him but he was in fear because the suspect was inches away from him holding the weapons.

There is no motive for the incident mentioned in the report.

The victim did say the suspect did do some work for him in the past.

No charges have been filed.

Also at the Port

A man working security at the Port Sept. 4 reported suspicious activity.

He said he watched a man in a vehicle taking pictures of the property.

The driver, a 65-year-old man, then approached the gate and said he is a fire inspector.

He produced documentation that appeared to be legitimate. The man said he was en route to the Port of Charleston.

Facebook slander

A Georgetown man says his son-in-law has been slandering his name on Facebook.

In the posting, the man calls his father-in-law a “psycho” and accuses him of being a wife-beater.

The man said he does not want to press charges but wanted the incident documented in case he has to take the matter to civil court.

Man discovered in shed

A man from the 21000 block of Choppee Road was advised by his grandson there was someone in his shed at about 1:10 a.m. Monday.

The man and his grandson walked out to investigate and saw the suspect exit the shed and run in the woods.

The victim’s grandson chased the suspect in the woods for quite a distance. The chase ended when he tripped over seven guns the suspect removed from the shed.

The victim described the suspect as a white male in his 20s, about 5-foot-5 inches tall with short hair.

Stolen gun and bike

A man from Sunnyside Ave. in Murrells Inlet reported he discovered a gun was missing from his gun case Sept. 7. He said he questioned his 20-year-old son about it and he got upset and left on a bicycle.

The man said the bicycle also belongs to him, so the younger man is accused of stealing the gun and bike.

Stolen and burned

A Ford Expedition was reported stolen from the front yard of a woman who lives on McKenzie Circle in Pawleys Island Sept. 7.

The vehicle was later found burned in Conway.

“The victim’s account of the incident time does not match up to the time of towing after the vehicle had been burned,” the report states.

The case is still being investigated.

Landlord suspected

A man from Fisherman’s Lane in Georgetown said he returned home Monday afternoon after being gone for more than a week and saw his $1,500 desktop computer was gone.

He said there was no forced entry so a key had to be used by the person who stole the computer. The man said the only people with keys are himself, his girlfriend and his landlord.

He said he was called by his landlord on Sunday asking where he was and telling him he needed to pay his rent.

The computer was the only thing missing.
