A man from Nesmith who owns property on Connecticut Ave. in rural Georgetown County called 911 after being told two of his cows were dead in the field and he had no idea if they had been poisoned or shot.
Because the man was unable to get to the property, a deputy agreed to check it out. He arrived and saw one cow was dead and another was “about to expire,” the report states.
The cows had not been shot and did not look as if they had been abused. There was also nothing in the field to indicate they had been poisoned.
The deputy said he could not determine the cause of death.
He told the owner he would call USDA to see if they could assist the man in determining what happened.
The ‘moon’ on Bluegill Street
A Bluegill Street man said he walked out to check his mail Feb. 5 and when he turned around he saw he was being ‘mooned’ by his neighbor.
The recipient of the mooning said after his neighbor saw he had been noticed, he pulled his pants up and laughed as he walked back into his house.
The man said he has had problems with his neighbor in recent months.
Two others said they saw the indecent exposure incident.
The victim said he did not want to press charges but wants a report on file.
Spitting woman
A 21-year-old Pawleys Island woman and her fiancee were in the parking lot of the Murrells Inlet Kangaroo convenience store Feb. 1 when her fiancee’s 22-year-old sister spit on her.
According to the suspect’s brother, they were there to meet with their mother to take care of some paperwork when his sister started causing problems.
The man and his fiancee were in their truck getting ready to leave when his sister stuck her head in the truck and spit in the victim’s face.
A warrant was expected to be signed against the spitter.
Tools and guns stolen
A woman from the 4600 block of Burnt Court in Murrells Inlet said someone broke into a shed behind her house Feb. 1 and stole an assortment of tools.
The person also entered the house and took a rifle and handgun from a bedroom.
There are no suspects
‘Priest’ visits before burglary
The owner of A Piece of Mind Counseling and Consulting on Highway 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet arrived at the office Feb. 2 and discovered the business had been burglarized.
Two laptop computers and a Bose sound system were missing.
When trying to think of who may be responsible, the owner told a deputy about a “strange” man who had been in the office recently. The man, she said, was dressed as a priest. He claimed he was a priest representing In Home Health Care.
He asked about renting office space.
The case is still being investigated.
Recovered golf cart
A woman from the 4900 block of Old Kings Highway reported her golf cart stolen Feb. 2.
She said it had been taken from her property the previous evening.
The woman’s son has run away a few times recently so he was questioned by a deputy. He said he did not take the cart and he had not let it be used by any of his friends.
Less than two hours after the report was taken, the golf cart was found abandoned in the woods next to Hyatt Ave. It was not damaged so it was returned to the owner.
Information is subject to change as the investigation proceeds. Individuals arrested and/or charged have not been convicted.
